Enriching Exceptional Lives

Skils’kin’s Employment Services works with individuals with disabilities to place them in appropriate jobs in the community, fostering self-sufficiency through employment. The employment programs emphasize building skills, supporting growth, and finding the best fit in the community for each person.

Individual Supported Employment

Places individuals in a traditional job in a community-based business.

Group Supported Employment

Employment is based at a company where four to five individuals work under the direction of a job coach.

Community Inclusion

Supports individuals in developing the skills they need to become independent and build relationships in the community in lieu of employment.

Project Search

Serves school-aged young adults with disabilities who are enrolled in the Spokane School District 81 and interested in the medical field. The program places individuals in internships in a hospital, with the potential to gain employment in the hospital or another field.

Ready for Hire

Skils’kin’s Ready for Hire social media campaign is a means for us to help individuals with disabilities find long-lasting job placements that best meet their needs and skillsets.

Typically, individuals served through Skils’kin’s employment services are referred by the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS), Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA), and/or Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR).
